These are usually large LCD screens instead of the traditional style of analog dials and gauges. Epic's entire fleet contains glass cockpits, because the airlines require pilots to be experienced in glass cockpits. You will find dual controls in Epic's fleet.

The Main Sections Of An Airplane

These are used by both the instructor and flight student. The wings of an aircraft serve the same purpose as the wings of a bird, hence their name. Airplanes are considered fixed-wing aircraft. (Helicopters are considered rotary-winged.) A plane is capable of flight because its wings provide lift.

Lift is created by the shape of the wings and the plane's speed as it moves forward. Wings include ailerons and flaps. "Aileron" is another French word. It means "little wing" or "fin." They are used in pairs to control the airplane's roll or bank.

Have you ever wondered how many airline parts comprise that Airbus you're boarding? Rest assured, the number of parts of a plane is considerable. In fact, today's commercial airliners are made of literally millions of parts.

To gain a basic understanding of aircraft design, we'll take you through the main parts of a Cessna Skyhawk. Whether you're flying a jet with twin turbines or a single engine model, you'll see commonalities among aircraft parts for every type of airplane.

A propeller is an aerodynamic device that converts rotational energy into force. This force propels the airplane forward. This creates thrust that is perpendicular to its plane of rotation. Propellers have two or more blades. Propeller blades are spaced evenly around the hub.

They are available in either fixed pitch or variable pitch configurations. The horizontal stabilizer on a prime contractor's 757 panel was damaged. The OEM had no stock, a 365-day lead time and a $124,500 list price.

Boeing: Boeing To Deliver Last 747, The Plane That Democratized Flying - The Economic Times

So, the client called Broadwing Aviation. Our team at Broadwing Aviation was able to use vast market knowledge, including strategic partnerships, to locate a retired 757, remove the panel, and have it repaired and delivered in 45 days for $69,500.

The fuselage is the main section, or body, of the airplane. (If "fuselage" sounds like a French word to you, you're right. That's because it is derived from the French word for "spindle-shaped" – fuselĂ©.) This is where you'll find passengers, cargo, and the

flight crew. The fuselage is the foundation for the structure of the aircraft. The tail number, which identifies each plane, is often located at the rear of the fuselage near the tail. Flaps reduce the stalling speed of a wing at a given weight.

The leading edge of the wings faces the front of the plane. Likewise, the trailing edge of the wing can be defined as the back edge that includes the aileron and trim tab. Some wings are fixed high on the plane above the fuselage and known as high wing aircraft.

Low wing aircraft are planes on which the wings are installed lower than halfway up the fuselage. A client needed a part no longer in production to get his aircraft out of check. Using our extensive database, Broadwing Aviation identified a supplier in Europe who had purchased the remaining stock years previously, with no public record.

Broadwing Aviation saved the client more than $100,000 and was instrumental in getting the aircraft back into operation on time. Both Epic-trained pilots and mechanics learn the meaning of airplane parts definitions through hands-on training. Proper aircraft maintenance is critical, and learning how to fly or maintain an aircraft starts with knowing the parts.

The following diagrams will allow you to view the basic structure and design as an introduction to the parts of an airplane. The parts of a plane are basic knowledge for all pilots. Whether you fly a Cessna 172 Skyhawk or a Boeing 747, pilots must know the main sections and parts of an airplane.

This is often available at a fraction of the new price. We welcome your inquiries, as much of this equipment cannot be found by searching our inventory listings. With client-proclaimed second-to-none service, Broadwing Aviation improved the client's reliability program and PO/RO tallies—something even its senior management has noticed.

With the best OTP and reliability standards in the entire fleet, equally important to the service is our hospitality, the client says. The empennage, also called the tail or tail assembly, is located at the rear of an airplane.

The tail provides stability during flight. This is very similar to how feathers on an arrow provide stability. In fact, if "empennage" sounds French, it's because it is. The term is derived from the French word empenner, which means "to feather an arrow."

The tail assembly consists of the vertical stabilizer, rudder, elevator, horizontal stabilizer, and static wicks. The cockpit of an airplane is also called the flight deck. This is where the pilot controls the aircraft. The cockpit includes a seating area for the flight crew, flight instruments, avionics, audio/radio communications, and flight controls.

Electronic flight instruments include a multi-function display (MFD). This is used to control heading, speed, altitude, altimeter, etc. The Primary Flight Display (PFD) typically includes attitude indicator, airspeed, heading, and vertical airspeed indicator. A navigation display (ND) provides route information, such as waypoints, wind speed, and wind direction.

You can trust our team to put its expansive reach to work for you while we adapt to each client's unique processes. The landing gear is the undercarriage of an airplane. It is used for both takeoff and landing.

The landing gear supports the plane when it is on the ground. Landing gear allows the plane to take off, land, and taxi without damage. Most landing gear have wheels. However, some aircraft use skis or floats to operate on snow, ice, or water.

Faster aircraft, such as many twin-engine or jet aircraft, have retractable landing gear. Upon takeoff, the folding landing gear is stowed away to reduce drag during flight. Our origins were in single engine piston aircraft. We have continued to expand this important part of our business, parting-out hundreds of aircraft from virtually any model or manufacturer you can think of.

AeroCommander, Beechcraft, Cessna, Piper, Socata and Cirrus are just a few of our representative product lines. From basic trainers to the most complex pressurized turbine, you will find aircraft and parts inventories available at the industries best prices.

5 Main Components Of An Aircraft | Sheffield School Of Aeronautics

An aircraft engine, or aero engine, is the power source for a plane. Most are either piston engines or gas turbines. Some drones, or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), have used electric motors. There are many manufacturers and models of engines.

Each is designed for specific aircraft, whether large or small. Manufacturers recommend an engine overhaul at specified times after an engine has flown a certain number of hours. Our experienced aerospace parts procurement experts are dedicated to supporting you, getting your needs right the first time.

With Broadwing Aviation, you can expect a response to RFQs within two hours. Our team will then stay in constant communication on your order status until you're back in the air. Regardless of the complexity or tight tolerance requirements of your components, UDASH has the experience, knowledge and hard-work ethic to complete any project successfully.

We welcome lower volume prototype quantities as well as higher volume production run aircraft components. Likewise our company has extensive experience in machining and manufacturing lower volume CNC machined aircraft spare parts and older/obsolete aircraft components.

The following are just some of the types of aircraft components we have successfully manufactured over the years; Regional and Commercial aircraft have been added to our menu over the years. From the inventories of commuter aircraft parts to the dismantling of dozens of Boeing and Airbus airliners, you will find us a quality source for spares and equipment.

We have dismantled aircraft and inventories from Canadair, Embraer, Beech, Fairchild Fokker, Airbus, Douglas and Boeing. From RJ's to 747's, you can find it here. Traceability and Certification are available on most parts. We also offer consignment and dismantling services, if desired.

DIMO Corp. has been involved in the marketing/production of various parts, spares, and components for aircraft such as Airbus (all models) and Boeing (B-737, B-747, B-757, B-767, B-777, B- 787) since 1994. Please note that all Commercial Parts, Components, and Products include full traceability as well as a Certificate of Conformance and FAA Form 8130-3 Certificates (Airworthiness Approval Tag) when applicable.

A frustrated client mentioned in passing he consistently buys the same new parts from an OEM, and endures a 120-day lead time every time. Broadwing Aviation proactively contacted the OEM to negotiate a volume parts purchase.

The result was a price reduction of 30% and a new lead time of only 1 day.
